NEW AD: How Michael Bennet Helped Protect Colorado Solar Jobs

Regardless of party, Michael stands up in Washington to support the best interests of Coloradans. 

DENVER ⁠⁠—  Today, Michael Bennet released his eighth campaign ad of the general election.  The ad, titled, “Stood By Us,” highlights Michael standing up to the Biden administration in support of Colorado’s solar industry.

When the Biden administration launched a solar tariff investigation, Michael saw the negative repercussions it would have on Colorado solar jobs and businesses. Michael did what was right for Colorado and pushed the Biden administration to expedite the investigation. As a result of his advocacy, the Biden administration stopped potentially harmful actions.

The impact of Michael standing up to the Biden administration to do what’s right for Colorado protected thousands of jobs and hundreds of businesses, and helped bolster our state’s transition to clean energy, which will save Coloradans money in the long run.

While Michael’s newest campaign ad highlights just one example of how he represents Colorado’s best interests in Washington, there are plenty more examples to tout from his record:

Record #1: Michael pushed the Biden administration to abandon action that threatened Colorado’s solar industry.

• When an investigation into solar tariffs threatened Colorado solar jobs, projects, and businesses, Michael worked with a bipartisan group of lawmakers to urge the Biden administration to expedite the investigation.

• Michael’s efforts paid off, and the Biden Administration waived potentially harmful tariffs.

Record #2: Michael stood up to Democrats and Republicans to fight for a tax policy that is right for Colorado.

• When Senate Democrats tried to lift the State and Local Income Tax (SALT) deduction cap, Michael pushed back, recognizing that it would disproportionately benefit wealthy households, not working Coloradans.

Record #3: Michael secured $4 billion in funding to address drought in the Colorado River basin.

• During negotiations over the Inflation Reduction Act, Michael made it clear to his colleagues in the Senate that he would not vote for the bill if it harmed the upper Basin of the Colorado river. The final bill included drought relief funding to help the entire Colorado River Basin
