This weekend, Michael and his campaign team met with Colorado voters at over half a dozen events in Pueblo and Frisco, including several that were publicly advised and welcomed members of the media to attend.
DENVER ā ā ā After helping pass the historic Inflation Reduction Act in the U.S. Senate last weekāwhich will lower prescription drug costs for seniors, fight inflation, and reduce the deficitāMichael flew back to Colorado so he could meet with supporters and bolster momentum for his campaign.
Whether speaking to a large crowd of supporters at an outdoor park in downtown Frisco or visiting Pueblo County Democrats for an intimate and engaging election conversation, Michael Bennet put in ample time and energy over this past week to engage with supporters and hear from Coloradans about the issues that matter to them in this midterm election cycle.
On Friday, Michael met with around 20 small business leaders at the Pueblo Chamber of Commerce to discuss his work in the Senate to help the small business community. State Senator Nick Hinrichsen and Pueblo Mayor Nick Gradisar joined the Senator as well, to thank him for the $16.8 million-dollar RAISE grant he helped secure for the city. At the event, leaders from the three chambers of commerce in Pueblo took part in the conversation: the Greater Pueblo Chamber, the Latino Chamber, and the Pueblo West Chamber.
Later in the day on Friday, Michael met supporters at a backyard election rally in Pueblo where local county Democrats heard from Michael about the state of his campaign and his thoughts on the upcoming election.
āI am running for reelection because I believe our democracy is incredibly fragile and for the last 50 years weāve had an economy that grew for the top 10% and we have to push back on this to give the American people a better vision for what the future looks like,ā Michael told Coloradans in Pueblo. āI believe that we can work to build an economy that when it grows, it grows for everyone, not just the wealthiest few. And we just did with the reconciliation package [Inflation Reduction Act] that just passed.ā
After a successful day in Pueblo, Michael traveled up to Summit County where he made remarks for a large crowd of supporters in downtown Frisco. Passersby and Summit County Democrats took the time to come out and listen to Michael talk about the election.
With only 85 days left until November 8, Michaelās team has planned a packed schedule full of campaign events around the state. With so much support from Coloradans, Michael and the team are energized to take on the busy campaign trail ahead.
